The ZF Sprocket is based on a simple yet effective principle: combining the strength of steel and the lightness of aluminium. ZF Sprockets use a lightweight aluminium carrier riveted to a hardened steel chain ring. This saves weight compared to traditional steel sprockets but retains their wear resistance. But the special duraluminium grade carrier approaches the strength of steel, so there's no disadvantage. As a bonus, the anodized aluminium carrier is often available in a choice of colours, so can be matched to colour themes on the bike. A specific profile of the sprocket teeth reduces accumulation of dirt and mud, making these sprockets ideal on & off-road. |
